Welcome to 7th grade

Dear Families,

This school year is off to a wonderful start. Our class is quickly becoming a community of learners. During the first couple of days we had serious discussions about what it means to be on a team and how that helps a person grow to become a citizen in a community.

We have established several classroom jobs and an economy system which allows students to understand the value of hard work and dedication. Attached is the list of class jobs and the Beck Store Catalog. Students learn how to “earn” and “save” money throughout the weeks in order to purchase things they want or need. I established a behavior chart which allows students to clip up for good behavior or clip down for negative behavior or actions. By clipping up they earn money called Scholar Dollars, and by clipping down they will owe Scholar Dollars.

It is my goal as your student’s teacher to establish a safe, welcoming and supportive learning environment. In order to do this, I have instituted a program within our classroom which allows the class to vote both openly and anonymously on several topics.

As a community of learns, we voted on our classroom rules and as a class we signed and agreed to follow these rules.

Class Rules:

  1. Work as a TEAM!

  2. Be Responsible!

  3. Be Respectful!

  4. Listen to others!

  5. Do your Best!

*Student also know that Schools Rules must be followed at all times.

I am enjoying getting to know each and every one of my students this year. Please email me if you have any questions or comments.
